Fully Funded Moroccan Scholarships Announced for Pakistani Students

The Moroccan government has announced a valuable educational initiative for Pakistani students, offering 10 fully funded scholarships for the 2025–26 academic year. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has confirmed the opportunity, which promises to broaden academic horizons for students in Pakistan and AJK.

This scholarship program spans diverse fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Management Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Architecture, and other related disciplines. It’s open to undergraduate, master’s, and PhD programs, with stringent eligibility standards in place to ensure academic readiness.

Eligible candidates must be Pakistani or AJK nationals and cannot hold dual citizenship. Those applying for undergraduate studies must have completed 12 years of education (FSc or A-level) and be below the age of 23. For master’s programs, 16 years of academic training are required, while PhD applicants must have completed 18 years of study. A valid HAT or USAT score is essential, with shortlisting based on these standardized test results.

Given the French language’s prominence in Moroccan academic institutions, especially for technical and economic disciplines, selected scholars will undergo a French language orientation course in the upcoming year. Centers like Alliance Française in Pakistan are expected to facilitate this program. For those pursuing studies in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, or related fields, existing fluency in Arabic is mandatory.

Students interested in availing this scholarship must apply online via the HEC’s scholarship portal (scholarship.hec.gov.pk) under the “Moroccan Govt Scholarship Program” banner. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, 12 June 2025, at 4:00 PM PST. Initially, hard copies of documents are not required, though shortlisted candidates will need to submit important documents such as academic transcripts, a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, a medical certificate, police clearance, and an NOC for employed candidates.

The HEC has issued an important advisory for students pursuing professional qualifications in foreign institutions. These degrees must be recognized by Pakistani professional bodies like the PMDC for medical programs, the PEC for engineering, and the PBC for law. Students must carefully review the PMDC’s guidelines on admissions to foreign medical colleges before finalizing their plans.

This initiative is a significant step towards fostering international collaboration in education, while also providing Pakistani students with a chance to enhance their academic and professional outlooks.
