Google One Prices Surge in Pakistan as AI Subscriptions Reach Rs. 70,000 Per Month

Google has significantly increased the pricing of its Google One storage and AI subscription plans in Pakistan, impacting both casual users and professionals. The revised pricing structure reflects a broader global adjustment, as the company cites rising infrastructure and service costs behind the changes.

The most noticeable increase is in the popular 100GB Basic plan, which has jumped from Rs. 219 to Rs. 419 per month. Annual pricing has also risen accordingly, now costing around Rs. 4,199 per year. This sharp increase signals a shift in how cloud storage services are being positioned in the local market.

Updated pricing tiers now range from entry-level storage options to high-end AI-powered subscriptions designed for heavy users. The Lite plan with 30GB storage is priced at Rs. 189 per month, while higher tiers such as 2TB, 5TB, and even 30TB storage plans now cost significantly more, with top-tier options exceeding Rs. 30,000 monthly.

In addition to storage, Google is actively promoting bundled AI packages that integrate cloud storage with advanced artificial intelligence tools. These include access to Gemini AI, research assistants, and productivity automation features, indicating a strong push toward AI-driven services.

The Google AI Pro plan offers 2TB storage along with AI tools for around Rs. 5,600 per month. Meanwhile, the premium Google AI Ultra package provides 30TB storage and a full AI suite, with prices reaching up to Rs. 70,000 per month. These plans are clearly targeted at businesses, developers, and content creators who rely on high-performance tools.

Annual plans continue to offer discounted rates compared to monthly billing, but the overall cost has still increased across all tiers. Even mid-level users will feel the impact as subscription costs rise steadily.

This pricing shift suggests that Google is repositioning its offerings toward high-value users rather than mass-market affordability. By bundling AI capabilities with storage, the company is aligning its services with the growing demand for automation, productivity tools, and advanced computing.

For users in Pakistan, this means reevaluating subscription needs and deciding whether the added AI features justify the higher cost. As competition in cloud and AI services intensifies, such pricing strategies could redefine how digital tools are consumed in the region.
