India Withdraws, Pakistan Marches into WCL Final Without Playing Semi-Final
In a dramatic turn of events at the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, the highly anticipated semi-final between Pakistan Champions and India Champions has been scrapped. The WCL organisers have confirmed that Pakistan will move directly to the final due to India’s withdrawal.
Posting on X, WCL said:
“We’ve always believed in the unifying power of sport. But respecting public sentiment is just as crucial. We honour India Champions’ decision to withdraw, and equally commend Pakistan Champions for their sportsmanship and preparedness.”
The walkover has pushed Pakistan Champions into the WCL final, where they will face either Australia or South Africa, depending on the outcome of the second semi-final.
Kamil Khan, the owner of the Pakistan team, expressed confidence in the decision. “Even if India had participated, the result would have likely been in our favour based on our previous performances,” he stated.
Khan highlighted that the team was ready regardless of opposition. “Preparation never changes for us. Whether it’s India, South Africa, or Australia, we treat each game with the same seriousness.”
This development has stirred conversation among fans and pundits alike, many of whom were expecting a high-voltage clash between the two rivals. Nevertheless, Pakistan’s consistent performance during the group stages has made their place in the final well-deserved in the eyes of many supporters.
Now, with the final approaching, all eyes are on who will emerge as Pakistan’s last hurdle—Australia or South Africa.
