Jazz and USF Launch PKR 668 Million Badin Project to Expand Digital Connectivity in Sindh
JazzWorld, in partnership with the Universal Service Fund, has signed the Badin Project to bring reliable mobile voice and broadband services to underserved communities in District Badin. The agreement was formalized at a ceremony in Karachi, attended by the Honorable Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, and Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, as chief guests.
The PKR 668 million initiative will deploy 45 new telecom sites and upgrade four existing ones, extending connectivity to 144 unserved and underserved mauzas, reaching an estimated 430,000 people. By expanding access to voice and high-speed mobile broadband, the project aims to empower local communities with digital financial services, online learning, telehealth, and government e-services.

Beyond connectivity, the Badin Project is expected to support small businesses and farmers with improved digital tools while generating both direct and indirect employment during network deployment and operations. The enhanced digital infrastructure is positioned as a catalyst for socio-economic growth and greater participation in the digital economy.
Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, highlighted the importance of inclusive digital access, stating that the initiative reflects a shared commitment with USF and the Ministry of IT & Telecom to ensure all Pakistanis can benefit from digital services, regardless of geography. Chaudhry Mudassar Naveed, CEO of USF, emphasized that the project aims to bridge the digital divide in Badin by delivering reliable connectivity and enabling grassroots socio-economic development.
The Badin Project builds on a long-standing collaboration between Jazz and USF to expand digital access nationwide. Through this partnership, the organizations continue to connect underserved communities, strengthen Pakistan’s telecom infrastructure, and advance the mission of providing a Better Life for All through inclusive digital transformation.
