NADRA Launches Updated B-Form System with Phased Identification Process

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new system for issuing B-Forms, aiming to modernize how child registration and identification are managed across Pakistan and for citizens living abroad.

The updated process introduces a phased approach, where each child will receive a separate B-Form at three different stages of development. Each stage comes with its own validity period, ensuring that identification records remain accurate and up to date as the child grows.

One of the key changes in the new system is the inclusion of photographs at earlier stages. This enhancement is expected to improve identity verification and reduce the risk of misuse or duplication. As children progress through the later stages, biometric data will also be incorporated, further strengthening the reliability of the documentation.

This move reflects NADRA’s broader efforts to digitize and secure Pakistan’s identity management system. By introducing more advanced verification features, the authority aims to align with international standards and improve service delivery for citizens.

The new B-Form structure is particularly important for legal documentation, school admissions, and travel-related requirements. With enhanced security features and updated records, parents and guardians can expect a more streamlined and transparent process.

Officials believe that this phased system will not only improve data accuracy but also help build a stronger national database over time. The inclusion of biometric information at later stages is seen as a critical step toward ensuring long-term identity integrity.

The initiative also supports overseas Pakistanis by providing a more structured and reliable identification process for their children. This ensures consistency in documentation regardless of location, making it easier to access services both within Pakistan and internationally.

As NADRA continues to implement digital reforms, the updated B-Form system marks a significant step toward modernizing civil registration. The changes are expected to enhance security, improve efficiency, and provide greater convenience for families across the country.
