Rupee Climbs Against US Dollar for 97th Consecutive Day

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its upward momentum, closing in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 97th consecutive day on Tuesday.

In today’s session, the PKR gained three paisas, settling at 279.67 against the USD. Despite this consistent strength versus the dollar, the rupee posted losses against most other major currencies during the same session.

Analysts attribute the rupee’s extended streak of gains to remittances, foreign inflows, and improved market sentiment, although challenges remain in the broader foreign exchange market, impacting performance against other global currencies.

The 97-day rally underscores investor confidence in the PKR, reflecting ongoing efforts to stabilize Pakistan’s currency amid economic pressures.
