SUPARCO to Unveil ‘Sky Clinic’ Telemedicine Innovation at ITCN Asia 2025

SUPARCO Sky Clinic

Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, is set to showcase its groundbreaking ‘Sky Clinic’ telemedicine solution at the ITCN Asia 2025 technology expo in Karachi, running from September 23 to 25. The initiative marks a major leap toward expanding health care access for underserved and remote communities across the country.

The Sky Clinic is designed as a state-of-the-art telemedicine terminal that harnesses SUPARCO’s own satellite technology to deliver secure, high-speed, and reliable connectivity in even the most challenging terrains. This ensures that patients in far-flung areas can access the same level of medical expertise available in urban centers.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, vital signs monitoring devices, and real-time consultation features, the Sky Clinic bridges the gap between doctors and patients. Its integration with health record systems allows for efficient data management, while its rapid deployment model ensures timely access to critical care.

SUPARCO highlighted that the terminal is portable, user-friendly, and powered by PakSat MM1 connectivity, enabling nationwide coverage with uninterrupted service delivery. Visitors at ITCN Asia will be able to explore the model firsthand and experience how the system works.

Launched in May 2024 with Chinese assistance and fully operational by October of the same year, PakSat MM1 has already become a cornerstone of Pakistan’s satellite infrastructure. Beyond telemedicine, SUPARCO continues to support national development by providing satellite imagery for flood monitoring, crop assessment, urban planning, and climate studies.

According to the agency, the Sky Clinic solution redefines how health care can be delivered in areas where conventional infrastructure is weak or absent. By leveraging space technology, Pakistan can build a more inclusive medical ecosystem that prioritizes accessibility and innovation.

The unveiling of Sky Clinic at ITCN Asia 2025 reflects SUPARCO’s broader vision of applying satellite-based technology not only for communication and disaster management but also for essential services like health care. Industry experts, government officials, and visitors at the expo are expected to take keen interest in this pioneering effort.
