RugOne, a rugged smartphone brand under Ulefone, has announced the Xsnap 7 Pro, a new smartphone that combines a durable phone design with a detachable modular action camera.
The company says the device will make its official debut at IFA Berlin, one of the major global technology events where brands showcase new consumer electronics and mobile innovations.
RugOne previously introduced its Xever 7 series of rugged smartphones at IFA last year. With the Xsnap 7 Pro, the company is taking a different approach by integrating a removable camera into the phone itself.
The most distinctive feature of the Xsnap 7 Pro is its cube-shaped detachable camera. Instead of requiring users to carry a separate action camera, the accessory can be stored directly inside the rear section of the smartphone when it is not in use.
The camera connects to the phone magnetically, allowing users to attach or remove it when needed. This modular approach is designed to give users greater flexibility when capturing photos and videos during outdoor activities.
Rugged Design for Outdoor Use
The Xsnap 7 Pro is built around the durability expected from a rugged smartphone. The device carries an IP69K rating, providing protection against dust and water in demanding environments.
This design could make the phone particularly appealing to users who spend time outdoors or work in conditions where conventional smartphones may be more vulnerable to dust, water and physical exposure.
The detachable camera also has its own waterproof capability. According to the company, the action camera can operate at depths of up to 5 metres, allowing it to be used for certain water-based activities without requiring an additional protective housing.
120Hz Display
On the front, the Xsnap 7 Pro features a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
A higher refresh rate can provide smoother scrolling, animations and supported gaming experiences compared with traditional 60Hz smartphone displays.
The combination of a large screen and rugged construction gives the device a balance between everyday smartphone use and outdoor-focused functionality.
Built-In Camera Storage
Unlike conventional smartphones that require users to carry an external action camera separately, the Xsnap 7 Pro’s modular design gives the camera a dedicated storage position on the phone.
When the camera is not being used, it can fit into the phone’s rear panel. Its magnetic connection is intended to make the accessory convenient to store and access.
This design is also what sets the Xsnap 7 Pro apart from most rugged smartphones currently available. Rather than focusing only on durability, RugOne is using modular hardware as a central part of the device’s design.
Color Options
RugOne plans to offer the Xsnap 7 Pro in two color options: Classic Black and Sand Dune.
The color choices maintain the outdoor-oriented character of the phone while giving buyers an option between a more traditional black finish and a lighter, rugged-inspired appearance.
More information about the phone, including its complete specifications, pricing and availability, is expected to be revealed around its official IFA Berlin debut.
The Xsnap 7 Pro could attract attention in the rugged smartphone market because of its unusual combination of a durable handset and a detachable action camera. If the modular system performs as intended, it could offer outdoor users a more convenient way to carry both devices without needing separate equipment.
