TECNO has launched the POVA Curve 2 5G in Pakistan, introducing a smartphone that combines a slim design, a large battery and a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display. Priced at Rs. 99,999, the new device arrives with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage, targeting users who want long battery life alongside gaming and everyday performance.
The smartphone is available across Pakistan from October 15, according to the supplied launch announcement. TECNO is positioning the device around its “Beauty and Beast” concept, combining a distinctive curved design with features aimed at demanding smartphone users.
One of the phone’s main highlights is its 8,000mAh battery housed in a body measuring just 7.42mm thick and weighing 195 grams. TECNO describes it as the world’s slimmest smartphone with an 8,000mAh battery, making battery capacity and portability central to its appeal.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset, designed to support mobile gaming, streaming, multitasking and fifth-generation connectivity. TECNO says the phone can maintain 60 frames per second during 90 minutes of Free Fire gameplay, with its Ice Cooling 3.0 system helping manage heat during intensive use.
The company also highlights TÜV Rheinland certification related to long-term performance. Such claims may appeal to consumers planning to keep their smartphones for several years, although actual performance can vary with software updates, usage patterns and battery ageing.
Battery life is another major selling point. TECNO advertises more than 15 days of standby time and extended usage between charges, while the device supports 45W wired fast charging. The company states that a full charge takes approximately 82 minutes under its specified conditions.
Additional features include 10W reverse charging, which can supply power to compatible devices, and bypass charging, which can help manage power delivery during supported gaming sessions. TECNO also says the battery is designed to withstand 2,000 charging cycles.
The POVA Curve 2 5G features a curved 144Hz AMOLED display intended to deliver smooth scrolling, responsive gaming and vibrant visuals. TECNO lists a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, although real-world brightness can depend on the display mode, content and environmental conditions.
For gaming, the manufacturer highlights 16x touch resolution and a 2,160Hz instant touch-sampling rate. These specifications are intended to improve touch responsiveness in compatible games, including PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
The design draws inspiration from futuristic spacecraft, with flowing lines and a symmetrical rear-camera layout. The smartphone also carries an IP64 rating for dust resistance and protection against water splashes, alongside Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and SGS-certified drop-resistance claims.
Buyers can choose from three colours: Melting Silver, Mystic Purple and Storm Titanium.
Photography features include a 50MP primary rear camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera. TECNO has also included AI-powered editing tools, such as AI Eraser 2.0 for removing unwanted objects, AI Flare Remover for reducing glare and haze, and Image-to-Live for animating still photographs.
Other software features include AI Noise Cancellation and the Ella voice assistant. According to TECNO, Ella supports two-way call translation, including WhatsApp, as well as conversation summaries and one-tap question answering.
The TECNO POVA Curve 2 5G is priced at Rs. 99,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. At launch, buyers using PalmPay’s instalment service can receive a reported Rs. 5,000 discount. Online shoppers can also access a reported Rs. 5,000 discount through TECNO Fans vouchers on Daraz, subject to the applicable terms and availability.
With its large battery, slim profile, curved AMOLED display and 5G connectivity, the POVA Curve 2 5G enters Pakistan’s smartphone market as an option for consumers prioritizing battery capacity and gaming-focused features within a budget of around Rs. 100,000.
