Redmi 17C 5G Could Be One of Xiaomi’s Best Budget Phones Yet

Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi 17C 5G as a budget-friendly smartphone aimed at users who want modern connectivity, a large display, and a long-lasting battery without moving into the premium price segment.

The new Redmi phone combines a 6.9-inch display with 5G support and a high-capacity battery, giving it several features that could make it an attractive option in the affordable smartphone market.

The device also focuses on everyday durability and usability, with features designed to make the phone more comfortable to use in different environments.

The Redmi 17C 5G comes with a 6.9-inch LCD display offering a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. The large screen is paired with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which can provide smoother scrolling and animations.

The display also supports DC dimming, a feature designed to help reduce flickering at lower brightness levels. Xiaomi has additionally included TÜV Rheinland-certified eye comfort features for users who spend extended periods looking at the screen.

Another notable addition is Wet Touch technology. This allows the touchscreen to continue registering inputs when the display or the user’s hands are damp, which can be useful in situations where conventional touchscreens may struggle to respond accurately.

Despite its large screen, the Redmi 17C 5G has a thickness of 7.99mm and weighs 211 grams. The phone also carries an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and resistance to water splashes.

Xiaomi has given the Redmi 17C 5G several color choices, including Dark Night, Purple Dawn, and Coffee Brew. The Coffee Brew version stands out with a textured vegan leather finish on the rear panel, giving the budget device a more distinctive appearance.

The combination of a large 120Hz display, 5G connectivity, durability features, and a high-capacity battery positions the Redmi 17C 5G as a smartphone designed for users who want a feature-rich device at a more accessible price point.

With the affordable smartphone market becoming increasingly competitive, the Redmi 17C 5G gives Xiaomi another option for consumers looking for a large-screen 5G phone without necessarily stepping up to a more expensive model.
