Tecno’s New Earbuds Can Record, Transcribe and Summarize Calls

Tecno has launched the Pova AI Buds Pro, a new pair of true wireless earbuds that bring artificial intelligence features directly into everyday audio use. The earbuds are designed to record conversations, transcribe speech in real time, summarize meetings and translate spoken language.

One of the key features of the Pova AI Buds Pro is real-time speech transcription. Users can convert spoken conversations into written text, potentially making the earbuds useful for meetings, interviews, lectures and other situations where keeping a written record is important.

The earbuds also support AI-powered meeting summaries. Instead of requiring users to review an entire conversation, the technology can process recorded speech and generate a condensed summary of the main information.

Another major feature is language translation. Tecno says the Pova AI Buds Pro can support translation across up to 78 languages, giving users a tool for communicating across different languages while traveling or working internationally.

The recording capability further expands what the earbuds can do beyond conventional music playback and phone calls. By combining recording, transcription and summarization, Tecno is positioning the device as an AI-powered productivity accessory rather than simply another pair of wireless headphones.

The launch comes shortly after Tecno unveiled the Pova 8 Pro and Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition. The new earbuds appear to form part of the company’s broader effort to integrate artificial intelligence into its consumer technology ecosystem.

Tecno is also preparing to launch the standard Pova 8 Pro in India on August 18. As of the latest information, the company has not confirmed an international launch for that smartphone.

The addition of AI features to wireless earbuds reflects a broader shift in the consumer electronics industry. Manufacturers are increasingly using compact devices as platforms for AI-powered services that can assist with communication, productivity and content processing.

Real-time transcription could be particularly useful for people who frequently attend meetings or need quick written records of conversations. Meanwhile, automated summaries may save time by reducing the need to manually review long recordings.

The translation feature could make the Pova AI Buds Pro especially appealing to travelers and multilingual users. Supporting up to 78 languages gives the earbuds a potentially broad range of applications, although the accuracy of translations and transcriptions can vary depending on language, audio quality and surrounding noise.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday hardware, privacy and consent will also remain important considerations for users. Recording conversations should be handled responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and the expectations of people involved.

With the Pova AI Buds Pro, Tecno is pushing wireless earbuds beyond traditional audio functions. The combination of recording, real-time transcription, meeting summaries and multilingual translation demonstrates how AI could increasingly become a standard feature in personal devices.
