FG/Din Reach SQ Seagold Polo Cup Final as SQ Seagold/Newage Secure Subsidiary Slot
The SQ Seagold Gold Polo Cup 2025 delivered another exhilarating day of top-tier polo at the Lahore Polo Club, where two major finalists were confirmed following intense competition. FG/Din clinched their place in the main final after a thrilling win, while SQ Seagold/Newage Cables dominated their clash to seal a spot in the subsidiary final.
A vibrant crowd of families, polo fans and club members filled the historic grounds, adding to the event’s festive atmosphere. Distinguished guests, including SQ Seagold Director Shiraz Qureshi, executive committee members and Club Secretary Major Amjad, attended the matches and witnessed the fierce contests unfold.
The day opened with a nail-biting encounter between FG/Din and Diamond Paints/Din, ending in a narrow 7–6 victory for FG/Din. The match remained fiercely competitive throughout all four chukkers, with both sides refusing to give an inch. Hamza Mawaz Khan was the standout performer, producing six clinical goals that showcased his elite skill. Mian Abbas Mukhtar added the decisive seventh goal that ultimately secured the win.
Diamond Paints/Din fought hard, led by the exceptional play of Raja Jalal Arsalan, who scored four goals, while Mir Huzaifa Ahmed added two more. Despite their strong showing, FG/Din maintained composure in the closing minutes to book their place in the title decider.
The second match was a more one-sided affair, with SQ Seagold/Newage Cables cruising to an emphatic 8–1 victory over Sula Polo. Senior polo maestro Saqib Khan Khakwani delivered a commanding performance, scoring six goals with trademark accuracy. Shiraz Qureshi added two additional goals to round off a dominant display. Sula Polo’s only response came through Raja Sami, but the team struggled to shift the momentum in their favour.
With these results, Sunday is set to bring an action-packed lineup at the Lahore Polo Club. FG/Din will face Master Paints in what promises to be a thrilling championship final, while SQ Seagold/Newage Cables will meet HK Polo in the eagerly awaited subsidiary final.
