LUMS Recognised at THE Awards Asia 2026 for Institutional Excellence in Student Support and Access

The Lahore University of Management Sciences has received international recognition at the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2026, winning the award for Outstanding Support for Students.

The recognition reflects LUMS’ sustained efforts to address structural inequalities in access to higher education in Pakistan through targeted outreach and comprehensive student support systems.

The University’s approach is anchored in two core programmes:

National Outreach Programme

Designed to expand access to higher education, the programme identifies high-potential students from underrepresented communities across Pakistan.

In 2024 alone:

  • Outreach extended to 276 schools
  • Spanning 90 cities nationwide

Selected candidates undergo preparatory training to facilitate their transition into higher education.

Student Success Initiative

Following admission, students are supported through a structured ecosystem that includes:

  • Financial aid covering tuition and living expenses
  • Academic advising and tutoring
  • Mental health and wellbeing services
  • Career development and alumni mentorship

Long-Term Impact

The programme has produced graduates who have entered leadership roles across multiple sectors, contributing to economic and social development in Pakistan.

This recognition underscores LUMS’ institutional commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success — positioning it as a leader in higher education innovation in the region.
